サザナミさんが我が家にやって来たのは、1年前の今ごろ。残暑も厳しく、お迎えした富山からの帰路、だんだん車のエアコンの効きが悪くなる始末。サザナミインコは暑いのが苦手だと聞いて来たばかり。慌ててヒナの入った虫かごを保冷剤で冷やしながら、焦って帰ったのを思い出します。
肌寒くも感じるここ数日、そんなお迎えの日を振り返りつつ、鳥をモチーフに指環を作ってみました。サザナミさんにしようかな、と思ったけれども、ハトです。これからも平穏無事に、元気に育ちますように、と願いを込めて。
It has been exactly one year since Sazanami-san came to our house. It was very hot last summer, and on the way back from Toyama, where we picked her up, the air conditioning in the car was getting worse and worse. I had just heard that sazanami parakeets are not good at hot weather. I remember that I was in a hurry to return home, cooling the cage with the chicks in it with a cooler.
It's been a chilly few days and I've been thinking back to the day I picked up my baby and made a ring with a bird motif. I was thinking of using a Sasanami-san, but I decided to use a pigeon. We hope that he will grow up peacefully and well in the future.
